Integrates core concepts of atmospheric science, geology, hydrology, ecology, and soil science to provide a foundational understanding of the critical zone and its relationship to environmental issues. Examines the influences of human activity on the functioning of the critical zone with consideration of management best practices and restoration actions for long-term sustainability.
